Colour Correcting For Skin Redness

Alice Red: Freedom Pro Colour Correcting Palette Before and After

Autumn has officially arrived, which means two things: number one, a sudden rise in Autumn-themed blog posts (not complaining, reading about hot chocolate and cozy jumpers makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside) and number two, my skin becoming much drier and a result more red overnight.

As much as I love high-coverage foundation, that's not really suitable on an everyday basis - and I seem to be the only girl who can't layer concealer under their eyes, either. It just creases and emphasises my dry skin even more. So when I saw the Freedom Pro Colour Correct Palette I thought I'd give it a go to see if I could reduce the redness in my cheeks and the blue tones under my eyes, to get a more even complexion without using so much makeup.

I'll be honest - I only use two shades in the palette, but even so it didn't cost much more than getting those two shades individually. I use the peach colour under my eyes to cancel out blue tones, and the green one on areas of redness. Even before I put my foundation on, I can see a difference. If you have any skin discolouration that you find difficult to cover up, I'd highly recommend trying a coloured concealer.

If your entire face is red and a targeted concealer wouldn't be enough, I also love the green No.7 Colour Balancing Primer. I usually mix a pea size amount in with regular primer or moisturiser. Both the primer and the concealer palette work beautifully under foundation or mineral powder.
