The Gratitude Jar

The Gratitude Jar

A couple of weeks ago, I saw Olivia's video on having a gratitude jar. As I've been practicing things like Mindfulness recently and overall trying to have a more grateful and positive attitude, I thought this would be a good thing to try.

The instructions are simple: first, just take something like a jar or a cup, or in my case a vintage vase that I've had for a few years. Every day, write down something you're thankful for on a piece of paper, then fold it up and put it in the jar.

The Gratitude Jar

Thinking of something to be grateful for on a daily basis keeps me in a good mindset, plus it's really cool to see the vase getting filled with notes. I've only been doing this for a week but there are already so many bits of paper in there, reminding me that there are so many good things in my life. As you can see in the picture, I'm using a few different types of paper to keep it visually interesting. Whenever I feel low, I can dip my hand in the jar and start opening notes to remember all the things I can be happy about.

Have you ever heard of a gratitude jar? Do you think you'll try making one?

And don't forget to say hello to Olivia! Her channel is lovely.
