During my recent visit to Belgium, I spent the day in Antwerp with my friends/tour guides Charline and Fred. It's a beautiful city, and I quickly understood why Charline loved to visit so much. There's so much to see and do there, even if you're on a budget - but somehow we managed to cram in all these sights while walking nearly 20,000 steps and battling the rain.
Last week, I went to Leeds to hang out with the gorgeous Rachel from Full Flourish. We've known each other since we had a few hundred subscribers between us, and now her channel is really growing and I couldn't be happier for her.
I travel to Leeds quite a lot as most of my mother's side of the family live over there, but believe it or not I've never actually walked around the city.
If you've been on my corner of the internet for a while, you might remember last year I filmed a video called 'Feeling Like a Fraud', followed by a blog post titled 'Things That Scare Me' with a small list of (at the time) frightening but achievable goals. At the time, my Anxiety was pretty bad, so this list included things that might seem ridiculous to other people like "Talk on the phone".
It's a well known fact that if you were to look inside my brain, you would be lost in illegible black scribbles. You know, the ones you write down at one in the morning when you have quite possibly the best idea you've ever had in your life - then look at it the next day and decide that it's terrible and that you're terrible and a terrible artist and you should have just got a "proper job".
When most people finish their university degree, they look for a 9-5 and start thinking about buying (or renting) their own home. But my decisions were very different: I chose to do a Master's Degree despite having no financial help, and then started doing freelance work from home while building up this blog and my YouTube channel. I'm absolutely fine with that because I know I'll be happier in the long-term, but right now it's means that I don't always have a lot of money.
